Would building a Hackintosh prevent Xcode from installing?

I've been running a hackintosh for about 9 years and have been installing and running Xcode the entire time.

Now I upgrade to Sierra from Yosemite and Xcode won't expand. I can get the .xip and I try to install it and it fails.

It seems to be about being able validate the download.

Is anyone else running Xcode 9?
