Apple is planning to abandon Touch ID for iPhone next year, reports KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. All new models will reportedly feature a full screen design and facial recognition.We predict all new 2H18F iPhone models will likely abandon fingerprint recognition. We believe this change will allow all new models to realize a competitive advantage via differentiation, on the back of an integrated user experience of full-screen design and TrueDepth Camera/ Facial recognition/ Face ID/ AR applications.
It's rumored that Apple will release a larger 6.46-inch iPhone next year with a design similar to the iPhone X. The company is said to have ended plans for a smaller 5.28-inch version. Additionally, Kuo is also predicting that next year's iPad Pros will also be equipped with a TrueDepth camera for Face ID.
