Just got a GTX 1060 so I need to upgrade 10.12 to 10.12.4 or higher. What problems might I run up against?

So I just got a GTX 1060. I can't get it to be recognized. I read I have to be on 10.12.4 or higher. So I need to upgrade.

I'm on a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H i5 processor Nvidia GTX 660ti Nvidia GTX 1060

I'm going to clone my drive first so if I need to restore it to my current configuration I will be able to.

I'm sort of new at this but I thought I'd ask if anyone else has experience with this type of thing.
