Hello all. I've been working on this for like 12 hours now and I'm at a point where I just don't what to do next. I have a 13.1 hackintosh with a 5820k and an asus motherboard and my sister has a very similar hackintosh, the only difference is the GPU and the motherboard. I remember it was insanely difficult to get hers to run when I first installed El Capitan on it over a year ago. It must be the most touchy motherboard I have ever worked with. Eventually I got it working and hoped I would never have to go through this again... Unfortunately she needs a newer version of CUDA and that requires a newer operating system.
So first things first I tried booting with my drive and install, with some small changes and really couldn't get it to work. Every single time I would get stuck at the plus line. So I decided I would just try and modify hers to get it to work, general hackintosh try this try that stuff.
I found that using any fresh new clover install I would get stuck at the plus symbol line. So I decided to update her old clover (3599) to the latest. I got stuck at the plus symbols again. After trying to update one clover at a time, I noticed the v2.3k always worked, while the v2.4k never really worked. Eventually I'm not sure what did it, but I got to 4318 and it isn't getting stuck at the plus symbols. I thought this was great...
Now if I even so much as save the config file (without changing anything) it gets stuck at the plus symbols again. So I really have no clue what is going on.
I have the EFI folder backed up labeled "WTF JUST GOT PAST THE PLUSES" so I keep replacing it with that immediately after trying anything, but any time I so much as touch the config, it breaks immediately.
I'm really not sure what to do at this point and I'm going to keep working even if I have to stay up all night. Any help is really appreciated.
Is it possible to run High Sierra on 3998? That version seems to work perfectly fine and I'm not sure if it's a motherboard thing or what. I figure it's best to have the latest version of Clover though and I was getting some errors with 3998, so I figured it wasn't worth trying.
Also to note: It booted up one time for some crazy reason. Right now with the config I have and the EFI I have it seems like it's trying to boot with nv_disable. It does the same exact thing my hackintosh does when I try and boot it with nv_disable (which doesn't work on High Sierra)
So that is why I think something is messed up with the config file, but any changes I make completely breaks it from getting past the initial plus signs.
Thank you so much for any ideas or suggestions, I really appreciate it.
Edit: Sorry for the broken topic title, I've been at this for a while. Just wanted to say I installed the web drivers after booting it up on my computer, so it does have the nvidia web drivers.
