Hardware: Threadripper 1950x GTX 1080ti x399 Carbon Pro
SSD 500gb (windows 10) / HDD 2TB (storage) / HDD 500gb (empty, this one is the problem)
So, (following Norton's guide on AMD OSX forums) I'm trying to install High Sierra to a new HDD I picked up today. Disk Utility can't see it, but it can see my other HDD and my SSD.
Disk Utility could actually see the HDD when I booted up the first time straight into Clover/my USB, although I had some work to finish off on Windows so thinking it'd be fine I just exited and rebooted into Win10.
After finishing my work, and going back into Clover....Disk Util can no longer see my HDD. It initially had 200gb of corrupted data on it (when Disk Util could see it) when I booted into Windows(but showing 0gb used/500) and was formatted as FAT32.
So I formatted it to NTFS, rebooted and Disk Util couldn't see it anymore. Went back into Windows a few times formatting it using DiskMgMt & TransMac (format for mac option).
So far I've formatted/initialized it 6 or 7 times trying different settings. Still can't see it in Disk Util to format it for Mac....Windows says the device is working properly, I can read/write data to it with no issues on Win10. The drive is currently empty, I can write to it though. Disk Util is able to see my other 2 drives with no issues. It is set to ACHI in the BIOS XHCI hand-off is enabled
I just don't know what to do, I used brand new cables when connecting it up as well but the fact it was there and now won't show up confuses me the most. It's a fairly standard Seagata SATA III 2.5" 500gb HDD.
Any help is appreciated, didn't imagine this much work to get coding for iOS but hey at least I'm learning.
