It's evident that I have upset the elitist crowd with my use of the term OSX. For the sake of accommodation, any further reference made will offer all due respect. May your peeves be free from irritation...
What files and directories, specifically, does Clover alter within the Apple Macintosh High Sierra Operating System? As far as I knew, it was just the EFI/ESP and FakeSMC.kext in S/L/E. Is this correct?
Where can I purchase "clean" memory that alleviates the need for Aptioxxxxxx drivers? My research frequently suggests that dirty memory and memory maps are to blame for the issues I'm having.
I've got one machine that was bulletproof until I enabled FV2. After encryption, I couldn't get past the login screen. It was not an issue with keyboard drivers as is so commonly suggested, I had no problem entering my password. Tried different keyboards and combinations of capslock. The error was "Could not load kernal cache" or "Error allocating runtime area". Had enough so I managed to reverse the FV2 encryption through Recovery, and successfully boot into Apple Macintosh High Sierra Operating System one time. I immediately ran kext utility and replaced my clover folder with a previous, known good version to revert the drivers back. Following, no matter what combination of AptioInputFix or OSXAptioFix1, 2, or 3, OSXAptioMemFix and slide values, I get the same kernel cache error.
I've tried rebuilding kernel cache and permessions through recovery to no avail. I can nolonger access the recovery partition, same error.
I also replaced the clover directory, through EFI-Shell, with a backup that was autosaved by clover, dated long prior to my FV2 affair. Same error.
I have my USB that I initially installed Apple Macintosh High Sierra Operating System with, and trying to boot with it gives the same kernel cache error.
Attempts to access the Apple Macintosh High Sierra Operating System installer, AND the Mojave installer return the same error.
Is it possible that too many volumes or FSX directories exist under EFI-Shell? I've got 7 showing.
Any Suggestions? It is a Dell XPS 9550 with 4k touch screen, 16gb ram, and SSD. It was absolutely bulletproof prior to this issue with FV installation.
Next is my desktop, which I am using to try and troubleshoot the laptop, has developed it's own set of issues. Every shutdown or reboot gives me video issues. Zero output, no matter what combination of monitors/ports I attempt. The only remedy is a 10 minute cooldown period with the powersupply manually switched off. The moment that clover loads, I can guarentee that next reboot will have no output. The 10 minute period is required. It's a GTX 780SC on m5a99fx with an FX8350 processor, 32gb ram, dual 1tb SSD's. Any ideas?
The same machine also frequently freezes at boot.efi. "++++++++++++++" and will proceed no further. This applies to recovery partition, installer, and operating system when I try to access from USB installer. I CAN load Apple Macintosh High Sierra Operating System through the instance of clover that exists on the internal hard drive, but nothing else. I've tried replacing clover on the USB with the directory on the HD, no difference.
I'd rather not mess with insanelymac, tonymac, or anywhere else that inevitably results in criticism that overwhelms suggestion, after you've read the FAQ, carefully, solved the required jigsaw puzzle, and paid with the thumbs of your first born.
Thanks in advance..
