High Sierra - Stutter / Freeze under cpu load

Hey guys here's a strange issue i've been having.

Everything runs smooth until I start using something CPU intensive for example when I run Parallels Desktop or compile huge projects, the whole OS starts stuttering and lagging.

Anyone has an idea of what's going on

i7-7700K OC GTX 1080 (387.10.10.10.40.105) MSI carbon motherboard (if that makes any difference)

I installed the latest kexts (whatevergreen, lilu) I'm kind of unsure where to look
