Won't shut down after "AtherosL1eEthernet.kext"

PC Config:
CPU: Core 2 Duo E7500
Mobo: Asus p5qpl-am (G41 + ICH7 chipset)
RAM: 4 GB 800MHz
GPU: GT 610

I successfully installed macOS Sierra 10.12.6 with all components working except the NIC, which is an Atheros ar8121/ar8113/ar8114 pci-e ethernet controller.

Then i installed AtherosL1eEthernet.kext (also tried pasting the kext in EFI/CLOVER/KEXTS/OTHER on a fresh installation). Now, the internet works but the computer wont shut down or restart. Once, shut down (or restart) is pressed the screen goes black (got the same black screen even while using verbose mode) but the computer will still be running. I'm sure this kext file is causing this.
