I just bought a BCM94360CS2 off eBay with an adapter to fit into my ASROCK B360M Pro 4’s WiFi m.2 slot.
However, whilst inserting the card into the m.2 adapter I had to use a lot of force to get it back out again as it wasn’t yet seated correctly. This caused the back of the card to scrape along the adapter and unfortunately one or two of those tiny little resistors that are like 0.5mm thick broke off.
I installed the card and adapter anyway and alas Bluetooth does work and WiFi does turn on but none of my home WiFi signals are being picked up by the card meaning I can’t connect to any network as it doesn’t even show me any. To verify that it’s not a Hackintosh problem, I installed the drivers on windows and had the same results.
However, do I need like an antenna for the WiFi to work? Even though a couple of resistors broke off, could it still be working just it can’t pickup any signals since it isn’t connected to an antenna? Or are no antennas required for this type of card.
Or does this sound like the card is broken due to the resistors missing.
