Decided to give this hackintosh thing a go. I had access to a MacBook so I downloaded Mojave. I installed it to a USB drive using Unibeast.
Long story short, I was able to get the Clover bootloader to launch, but when I select to boot from the usb drive in Clover, it will go to the black screen with the Apple logo and the progress bar. However it will only make a couple pixels worth of progress into the bar before it just gives up and sits there.
The relevant parts of my build are
ASRock z77 Extreme4 i5-3570k 4x4gb Patriot RAM @1600mhz MSI RX580
I unplugged my SSD and platter drives, except for the one unused drive I was going to put MacOS on.
What should I try at this point? I read that Mojave is supported as far back as Ivy Bridge, so I'm in the clear there. I've googled around and found people who succeed with the z77 board I have. So I'm basically stuck.
