What's the best way to upgrade to Mojave

Hello everyone!

Kinda accidentally I booted into Mojave (it was an old test installation, which didn't work back then, but I had stopped my efforts, since I've understood it that way, that it wasn't supposed to work anyway because my GPU is nvidia).

Long story short, it works great as far as I can tell yet (but rather slow because it's currently only on some microSD).

I would like to merge it with my current partition of High Sierra.
I definitely want to keep it HFS+ (like it's currently on the microSD). It would be nice to keep all my settings from High Sierra as well.

What's the best way to achieve this? Shall I upgrade the HS installation? Or am I better off copying the current Mojave installation to my SSD and do all the settings again (even though I would want to avoid this, but maybe otherwise there will be far too many problems).

My HS installation doesn't have a recovery partition (most likely I deleted it, I can't remember). To use FindMyMac one seems to be required. Is there an easy way to create one (without starting all over again)?

Thanks in advance!

Not important, but more out of curiosity and to grab the opportunity to learn something:
- Why does Mojave work with my Nvidia card? Was I wrong in the first place about the problems which I thought would exist? Also: I understand that there aren't web drivers (I also don't use them in HS, so I don't see a need). Are there CUDA drivers? Not that I would actually need them (I guess!?) but I always had them installed so far anyway.

- Currently the system is a bit.. meh. Not laggy, but also when it's finally done booting, it just isn't the way, I am used to it. Is this only due to the obvious difference between SSD vs microSD or is Mojave's performance in general not comparable to the one of High Sierra?

- I messed something up with the boot loader. I never got Clover working in the past (to be honest, I didn't even know it's been in the EFI partition still), so I am using Chameleon/Chimera. Today something really weird happened when I installed some new Chameleon version: the laptop starts booting in 100% legacy mode (at least boot0, maybe also boot1, but this I already don't know for sure) and then switches to UEFI/Clover (which is actually perfect, because the UEFI partition is on a mSATA which my laptop doesn't support to boot out of the box). I'm a total beginner regarding UEFI (never needed it) and this magical switch from BIOS to UEFI/Chameleon to Clover is really confusing to me (it's great, but I guess it wouldn't hurt if I would understand for the future what's happening). So if anyone has a clue what's happening during my laptop booting, and could share it with me, that would be great.

- Interesting/ confusing: I can't boot Mojave if I copy the whole EFI partition to a USB stick and try to boot it in "real" UEFI mode. It works, for whatever reason only in this Chameleon/Clover mix. Any idea why? Or even better: What's different in booting Clover via UEFI, and booting Clover via legacy+Chameleon.

Thanks a lot!
