Has building a Hackintosh gotten any easier in the last 5 years?

I built a hackintosh with the help of a friend around 2011. It was great when it worked but I'd have weird crashes and once every few months I'd have to call in someone more experienced for help getting it back up and running. Have they become less of a hassle since then? I really like Mac OS but they don't have any viable Mac Pro model that can function as a true workhorse machine so I'm considering building another Hackintosh, if of course it's possible to have a more stable machine.
