New here, quick rundown? How hard is it?

Hey guys, so my fiance is pretty much surrounded in the apple ecosystem. Iphone, ipad, MBP, and an imac. We really hate the price and performance of IMACs. As someone who has experience building computers as a side hobby (ive built like 4-5) 2-3 high end ones. But I have 0 experience in this side of the world, and dont work in any computer related fields so my knowledge in coding etc are all pretty much nonexistant. Im just PC windows fluent and thats about it. Ive never dealt with any other OS either.

How hard would you guys say it is? My projected goal is to build a really high end "future proof" hackintosh within the year. Adding in things like SFF case, high end mobo with 32gb ram, i9 processor or (10 core whatever comes in the next year) along with a mid tier GPU, high end NVME SSD.

Will this be just a result of building the computer and downloading the OS/configuring some things? Or am I gonna have to really learn? From reading part of the side subreddit so far sounds like a pretty big amount of info I need to learn.

TLDR; have no experience in other OS/this side of the PC world, but pretty fluent in windows/pc building. Can I learn this in a day or is there going to be a lot headaches, configuring and troubleshooting?

- this is basically just to determine if I want to do it this summer or after I finish some majorly intensive classes in the fall.
