Third times the charm....

Specs:

Intel i9-9900k (OK'd to 4.9GHz. Silicon lottery did me no favors)

Sapphire RX590 (worked right out of the box)

Gigabyte Auros Extreme

32GB Corsair 3000MHZ RAM

Corsair H150i Pro (Push/pull, venting out the top of the case)

Corsair HX1200i Power Supply

500 GB Samsung 970 Pro NVME SSD (Mojave)

1 TB Samsung 860 Evo SSD

128 GB XPG 8000 NVME SSD (Win10)

First time ever building a PC. Needless to say, I bought a case of adult diapers for this mission into the unknown. After a few months playing around in windows, routing and re-routing cables, getting a stable overclock, (one worker in Prime95 would always fail at 5 GHZ) I finally got round to the real work. Followed the Vanilla guide and everything seems to work.....well, 99% anyway. Currently having an issue getting Clover to update to 4910, and the odd "cannot allocate" upon reboot. A reset or two and I am back in he race.

I say third time the charm as there were 2 attempts prior to this working build. I careened off the cliff the first time due to me thinking that this would act like a real Mac. (/cough migration assistant /cough) Second time was playing around with the clover settings and not keeping a really good backup file. I did have a copy of the USBMap so it made re-installation a lot faster. It has been just about a week of daily driving, and all is working as expected. Still tweaking, but I am getting to the point where I may shut my old 2K8 Mac Pro down. She has served me well, and is due for some rest.

Anywho....Big shout-out to r/hackintosh and u/cmer for the assists.
