What could be the reason for MacOS install crashing out halfway through?

So anyone know what would cause the installer to crash out (straight to black / reboot)

clover boots and I can get Into the installer - but crashes out after 2 minutes.

Should I install with the minimum clover Kexts on the stick? I am using this guide with almost same hardware (op gone awol) and the included drivers/Kexts on the stick... is this wrong thing to do?
