Wine equivalent for MacOS software?

Hopefully this is the best subreddit to put this. If there’s somewhere better you think this should be, let me know and I’ll move over there.

I know one of the largest attractions towards creating Hackintoshes is to have the ability to run MacOS software. However, on Linux you can use a program such as Wine to run run Windows software - stuff meant for a completely different operating system. Why does no such software exist for running MacOS software? Is there something about how the OS is designed that makes this impossible? Does it have to do with legal issues? I’d love for some light to be shed on this, thanks
