Hi there,
Yesterday my RX 480 packed in so I had to make an emergency change over to using my iGPU (Intel HD630 on i7700k) until I can fix it/get a replacement GPU. I've managed to get it working on one display using the following changes to clover:
- ACPI - 'Change GFX0 to IGPU' patch applied
- Boot - "-disablegfxfirmware" boot argument added
- Devices - IntelGFX FakeID changed to '0x59128086'
- Graphics - ig-platform-id changed to '0x59120000' + InjectIntel ticked
- SMBIOS - changed from iMac18,3 for use with my RX480 to 18,1 to use iGPU
I also made changes in my motherboards (Gigabyte GA-Z270X-Ultra Gaming) BIOS to allow iGPU to be used. I also have lilu + WhateverGreen kexts installed and up to date.
As I said when I boot up with one display (DVI) it seems to be happy and system information shows a VRAM of 1536 MB (have seen plenty of people saying they could only get it to show 7MB which led me to make the changes in clover I did). However if I boot a second (HDMI) screen plugged in, after log in the second screen goes black and I get graphical issues/tearing on my main display and then lots of black horizontal bars across it - which don't go away unless I reboot with 1 display.
Also if I plug in the second display after booting both displays go blank and my machine restarts.
Realise that's a lot of information there (sorry about that) but wonder if anyone has any ideas of extra things I can try - as my googling is running out of useful information now. Or if I'm just going wrong somewhere?
Thanks in advance
