How do you remap/use function buttons on PC layout keyboard to act/function as the mac keyboards do?

Back in the day (iDeneb Days) discros came with useful osx86 software. Like hardware growler, a key mapper/remapper, and some other stuff.

The thing is that I dont know what that software was/is called. If it even works on High sierra. What Im trying to do is use the pointless Fx buttons to act as they are labeled on their key. (EX: Play/Pause, Back, Next, Delete as Eject)

Im sure there is a software or maybe something prebuilt into the system for this since people use PC/Windows layout keyboards on macs.
