I used /u/Biddlebaddleboo 's post that referred to this same hardware. He had the SFF so he used an NVIDIA card but I just used the Integrated HD4000 graphics. He had attached his EFI Folder so I used that ; I think my only change was to Inject Intel with an ID of 0x0166000a (the middle value for Ivy Bridge HD4000). He used "Macmini6,1" so I did too.
The Kexts he used were VoodooHDA, XHCI-unsupported, SMCProcessor, SMCSuperIO, VirtualSMC, SMCBatteryManager, Lilu, USBInjectAll, and IntelMausiEthernet. I added WhateverGreen. And in drivers64UEFI he had ApfsDriverLoader-64, AppleImageLoader-64, AppleKeyFeeder-64, AppleUISupport-64, AptioInputFix-64, AptioMemoryFix-64, DataHubDxe-64, FSInject-64, HFSPlus, and SMCHelper-64.
So - maybe I didn’t really need all of those but everything seems to be working fine and I have no complaints about system speed.
I have only tested USB Audio because this machine is a replacement for our old Mac Mini that was connected to a 4K Samsung TV and a powered speaker via USB. The audio works fine and the volume is adjustable via the OS.
I bought a D-Link DWA-171 for wifi and this Bluetooth Dongle. Both are working fine - I downloaded the D-Link OSX driver. (I also bought a cheap DisplayPort to HDMI adapter)
I got this machine on ebay for $170 ; it came with 8G memory, a 120G SSD and a 250G HDD. The SSD had Win 10 on it so I cloned that to the HDD and installed Mojave on the SSD. It's definitely speedier than our Late 2014 Mini that uses an HDD. And Sleep is working too - which is nice because we'll use this as a DVR machine so it needs to wake from sleep to record from our HDHomeRun OTA TV device (I tested that and it works fine).
So - I'm very happy with this setup and I know it'll be very easy to upgrade the 8300 if I want to (unlike the Mac Mini).
