Hey all,
I did a quick and dirty install on a machine with a QUO motherboard (super old I know) a while ago for a recording studio setup. In order to run some older recording hardware. I run a bunch of analog compressors into a presonus firepod which goes into the machine via firewire. The other day, my machine entirely stopped reading the device. Ive bought new cables, a new firewire card, and checked the board on the unit, all seeming to work. I get a red light on the device when its not connected to the computer and a blue one when it is, so its reading a connection to the firewire into the machine, but the OS or recording software is not reading the unit anymore. It doesn't come up in system preferences either so its not just a logic issue. I cant seem to find the best way to reset the hardware without bricking it, maybe try re-installing firewire kexts? Finding any QUO help is nearly impossible online. Im close to last resorting buying a new hard drive and doing a traditional hackintosh install instead of the QUO bios, but Id like to try and fix it this way before reinstalling and backing up all of my software presets and libraries. Help is super appreciated, I've got two different client albums to finish that I dont want to have to get another machine to work on!
