I use an Insignia keyboard with media controls "baked in" via hotkeys: play/pause, volume up, down, mute, etc. I am planning to get a keyboard without those hotkeys, and so I wanted to try the keyboard shortcuts to adjust volume (F11, F12, and using them in combination with option+shift). I was surprised to find they didn't work. Since its a non-aaple keyboard I dont get the option in the keyboard menu for to treat function keys. I even made sure that there are no other shortcuts assigned to the buttons, so I'm not sure what could be the issue.
Are the hotkeys making the shortcuts fail? Is this a config issue I should investigate? Any suggestions are appreciated.
