I currently have a 7200rpm Hard drive. I'm noticing lag when loading plugins in logic pro. When check the disk speeds in iStat, the read and write speeds are about 30MB/s. But when I benchmark disk speed with Blackmagic, I get around 180MB/s. I'm so confused. Why is logic pro not utilising full speed of my HDD? If this is the case, then how can buying SSD speed up things?
