Hi All,
I just successfully installed the latest version of Catalina on an old work Latitude 6430U. The tutorial I followed was pretty straight forward and the creator of the tutorial made it even easier by creating the EFI folder for this model.
Pretty much everything worked out of the box except the Wifi card & Bluetooth. I knew these wouldn’t work and I plan on only using the LAN. The tutorial stated that after copying the EFI folder to the HDD EFI partition so that the laptop could boot without the USB the final step was:
Go to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/LE and copy all of the kexts from there to /System/Library/Extensions and run Kext Utility
I tried to copy the 3 Kexts in the folder but it wasn’t possible, after doing some research I found that Catalina prevents anything from being written into the L/E I also read that there was no need to copy the Kexts from the EFI partition. Everything seems to be working OK I just wasn’t sure if I missed something.
It was a slightly different process when I installed High Sierra on my HP8300 Desktop for the post install.
Thanks in advance for any advice,
