Hello all,
I have a stable Mojave hackintosh with an i5-8400 and Sapphire RX 570 on a Gigabyte Z370n Wifi Mobo. However, I'm transitioning to a new computer and want to run my new one with a fresh Catalina install and with the iGPU of the CPU. I've followed the Vanilla guide here and generated the SSDT for my install. Everything went great and I have the MacOS option on my new partition. However, when I go to install, it hangs up and won't complete.
Interestingly, on one of my tries, I had one of the display cables still attached to my dGPU and it got further along before going to a black screen. After a few seconds, I heard the Mac Voice Over prompt to help with the install of the OS. When I temporarily gave up and just tried to get it going with the dGPU, I again saw the image of the apple and the loading bar before it went dark and started the voice-over again
I researched this problem and saw the suggestion to update my Whatevergreen and Lilu kexts, which are already at the latest release.
Any suggestions? It seems to be a problem communicating with the GPU, but I can't understand why I would see the apple with the dGPU set-up before going to a dark screen with voice-over. It seems like it should be all or nothing on that front.
Any suggestions? I linked my config.plist to the post. If further information would be helpful, just let me know and I'll try to upload more. I did go through the BIOS and try enabling and disabling my iGPU, but this didn't change anything on either front, with either the dGPU try or the iGPU try.
I also have tried using iMac 18,1, iMac18,3, iMac19,2 and MacMini 8,1 in the SMBIOS with new serial numbers generated from the python script in the vanilla guide.
Has anyone else had similar problems?
