My first ever subreddit so let me know if I'm going wrong somewhere.
Background: A Cybersec Grad Student who has done Laptop Hackintosh 4 years ago.
Requirements: A dual monitor setup, allows me to keep a hundred chrome tabs open while I have Kali running as a VM. Allows me to spin up Docker instances(AMD doesn't support the virtualization required for Docker I guess?)
Why Hackintosh?: I have seen and used Kali on multiple Windows host systems (i5/i7, 16GB/32GB RAM) and it still lags and is very slow to respond. Whereas Kali runs quite smooth on my 5-year-old Macbook Air(1.6GHz dual-core i5, 8GB). Too broke to afford a brand new Mac.
Questions: 1. How well is virtualization supported on Hackintosh platforms? Can I expect the same kind of smoothness from native Mac systems? 2. Having done a Hackintosh before so I am not new to the work that goes into making the stable. But since I am building a new system for it I would like to go for a build that is already well supported. Please pour in your suggestions(CPU/Mobo/Discrete Gfx).
Budget $700-$800
