X99 Upgrade to Catalina 10.15.4 successfully but just a minor issue

Hello

Today I upgraded my build from Catalina 10.15.3 to 10.15.4 successfully with Opencore 0.5.6.

Build:

MB: Asus X99 Deluxe

CPU: E5 1660 v3 (overclock to 4.3Ghz, cache to 4.0Ghz)

Mem: DDR4 3200 8G * 4

GPU: Asus 5700xt Reference model (water cool modded)

SSD: Intel 600p 512G

It almost work out of box. No kext need to be upgrade or added(May because I have the newest release already). After finishing upgrading, I notice a noticable CPU downgrade from Geekbench 5. Previously in 10.15.3, the CPU can reach around 1100+ in single core and 8100~8500 in multithread. But in 10.15.4, it turns out it dropped to around 600+ in single core.

However I was not surprise at that time because I'm using manual xcpm kernel patches in Kernel --> Patch section. Those patches usually need to be updated between different releases thus that could be the issue. Also the "sysctl machdep.xcpm.mode" return 0 which indicates XCPM not working correctly.

By seaching online, I leart that actually in Opencore those patches are not really required and are handled by Quirk. There I decide to remove all manual patches and use only the Quirk to enable XCPM and it turns out it's working great. All the following checks return the expected results suggested by KGP's guide:

sysctl machdep.xcpm.mode

kextstat|grep -y x86plat

kextstat|grep -y appleintelcpu

sysctl -n machdep.xcpm.vectors_loaded_count

The istatmenu along with Intel Power Gadget shows the CPU frequency/power changed based on the CPU load as well. So far so good.

However, I find the Geekbench 5 CPU test score is a little lower than in 10.15.3. The single core only hit around 950 comparing previously it's always 1100+. It's around 10% CPU performance reduce. But since now the XCPM seems working, I actually don't have further clue to get that performance back.

Did you experience the similar CPU performance drop in your system?
