Not recognizing drives on the SATA150 ports on motherboard?

  • CPU: i5-3570 Ivy Bridge (Also works with i7-2600 Sandy Bridge)
  • GPU: MSI Radeon RX580
  • RAM: 32GB G.Skill
  • Motherboard/Laptop model: Gigabyte GA-Z68PDS3 rev 1.0
  • Audio Codec: ALC889/889a. I think it's layout 1 or 3. I remember in Clover I had to edit ACPI to tell it to be 1 instead of 3 then it worked. Still have to figure it out.
  • Ethernet Card: Intel Pro/1000 PT (EXPI9300PT)
  • Wifi/BT Card: N/A
  • What guide/tool followed: OpenCore Vanilla Desktop guide
  • What part I got an issue with: I got pretty much everything working the first round on a Sandy Bridge proc following the Ivy Bridge guide since I know I'll be swapping it into this machine. Surprisingly it was all good. Then I plug in the additional spinning rust drives I have into the 3Gbps SATA ports and they all show up as unrecognized partition map and also not recognizing the SMART protocol. They work fine when I boot into High Sierra. It looks to only be on the slower 3Gbps SATA ports. When using the 6Gbps SATA ports, they are recognized. Any suggestions on what I may be missing? Is there a Kext I need to use to force Catalina to see the other ports?
  • What files/config I am using: Nothing custom other than the listed KEXTs in the Vanilla guide.
  • Extra Info: During boot up, there's a quick message about unsupported PCH but reading OpenCore forums it seems that it can be ignored?
