Black screen after boot after swapping GPU

Can GPU be switched out? I’m upgrading my Vega 64 to a gigabyte rx 5700 xt and now it gets past the Apple logo then a black screen. I am able to boot into windows properly so the GPU works. What could be wrong? I am on OC 0.6
