Hey guys!
I've some questions to anyone who uses a hackintosh for audio production/real-time audio, maybe more targeted towards hackintosh laptop users but hackintosh desktop user's inputs are welcome!
Should I jump the gun to dual boot mac on my windows gaming laptop for DJing and other audio stuff? And have you suffered from latency issues or maybe cause you other troubles from using hackintosh?
I recently bought myself an HP Pavilion Gaming laptop after my macbook died. Besides using it for school I also needed it to be able to handle all my DJ and other audio needs. So I went for a gaming laptop and so far it's a beast at everything! ... except audio :(
It has an i7-8750H six-core processor, 16GB RAM and a 1050Ti so I was kinda surprised that there would be any issues. I soon found out that many windows laptops suffer from DPC latency issues that cause pops and cracks in audio related circumstances unlike windows desktops or macs in general. From what I understand is that windows has very poor drivers to handle the communication between hardware, especially mobile hardware and therefore causing high latency spikes. At this point I tried everything there is to lower that latency value but I've exhausted everything without success.
