I haven't made a hack-mac in a few years and I'm returning to the scene. I have a 6600XT and TIL Monterey is the only option. So since my last foray into this was when Clover was still a thing - I researched this sub and found someone who actually had the exact same board/proc as me. Chang something, I'm sorry, I don't remember his username. However, I copied his EFI folder (minus the some SSDTs and made changes to the config.plist). I grabbed up the kext files needed (minus the bluetooth/wifi ones since they work OOB). I booted up the Monterey installer and all goes fine till about the 12 minute remaining mark wherein the install log says it's completed dumping the files to the drive. It then mumbles something about not being able to verify and falling back to X509. Then thing reboots and voila! Darkness, and nothing more....
It reboots to absolutely nada. The OC stick boots again and asks me to run the install anew as if nothing just happened for 6 minutes. To say that I'm confused is putting it mildly. There's literally no errors exposed by using -v and from what I can tell, all is well with the world till that "cannot verify" thing comes up in the installer log.
Using the latest kexts: Lilu, Whatevergreen, Virtual SMC, USBInject, no drivers for BlueTooth/Ethernet because they work out of box.
I should mention, minus the GPU not working - this board works 100% in Big Sur. If you have a supported GPU, this board will work 1000%. Bluetooth, Wifi, Ethernet (both of them). They all work out of box, no real negotiation needed.
I am at work atm - but I can post the EFI folder in like an hour or two. I just wanted to get some opinions right quick on what maybe could be wrong. Because like I said, I'm fairly certain it's something really stupid and hopefully my description of the event may be enough to figure it out. If not, EFI coming.
