USB sound quit, selecting USB sound out stops videos from playing

Hi, all.

So, I just upgraded my hackintosh. Went from a 3600 to a 5800x CPU. Now, when I try to use my USB audio, input seems to work. I can select my usb defice for sound out but there is no sound output. If I select a different sound output device, youtube videos will play (without sound of course) but if during playback I switch to the USB audio the playback stops. Any ideas how to fix this, other than learning how to read subtitles? I've tried a couple of different usb audio devices that worked in the past, and all of them work if I boot into windows. Everything worked fine before swapping CPU and updating motherboard bios for compatibility.
