I'm interested in making a hackintosh out of my HP Compaq 550 with its Intel Celeron 550. I'm curious for recommendations on where to start. I've tried iBoot, but it doesn't seem to want to boot a Mac OS installer off of a USB drive. It'll detect it and get to the apple with the spinning lines, but then it just fails as it appears to think that the drive with the OS is in the DVD reader and not the USB port. When ejecting the iBoot disc before attempting to boot the flash drive it really didn't like that and threw up a bunch of sector errors. Will I just have to give in and burn a DVD+R or buy a legit retail disc? Btw, I was trying to boot Snow Leopard.
