| mobo: Asus tuf z690 d4 cpu: i7-12700k ram: corsair vengeance 4x16 @3600mhz storage: a non samsung nvme that i can’t recall the name of Issue is that the screen will freeze (including mouse) for 15-20 seconds, then will start moving again but with the issue pictured. The mouse also can’t interact with any windows while the strange geometry is on the screen so I’m forced to hard shutdown with the power button. As you may have guessed from the picture, this occurs when playing games (Civ 6) that shouldn’t be particularly bothersome for the GPU but still are causing a crash. GPU temp was 70 celsius and RAM was only at 20/64 gigs when the crash in the photo occurred. It usually takes only around a few minutes of play before the crash occurs. I can’t pinpoint when exactly this started unfortunately, but the system as it is currently is fairly new to me, as I replaced most of the parts of my hack over the course of the last year, but I’ve had this same ship of Theseus build for the past 6 years or so with no issues like this until maybe a month ago. Another odd thing is that I tried booting with separate EFIs that were from builds that matched my hardware just to see if anything would change and the crash still occurs which tells me that I have all the frame buffering done that I need to. I also haven’t seen any posts matching this so maybe I’m just the only person who plays civ with a hackintosh and got unlucky with some of the latest patches. Any ideas? Games and GPU all run fine on windows, and my hack runs completely perfectly aside from this. [link] [comments] |
