I’m wanting to upgrade my ram but when I swapped out the old ram for the new ram, my system won’t boot and I get 5 beeps from the mobo then restart. I can’t get into the bios or anything.
Working system: i7 8700k Gigabyte z370P D3 Mobo bios f3 16 GB Team Group Vulcan DDR4 3000 Gigabyte rx480. MacOS Mojave
I bought 4 sticks of hyperX 16gb DDR4 3200 to have 64 GB of ram.
I tried all the sticks and then just one stick but got the same no boot beep thing.
I’m wondering if I should just return the ram or if my mobo needs a bios update for them to work correctly. Will a bios update effect my macOS install?
Thanks for all your help over the years. I’ve done a lot of reading on here and usually can find answers to my questions.
