MacPro 5,1 (2010) wanting to upgrade to Ventura

Hello all

Thank you in advance. I am a new to Opencore. I am currently running 10.14.6 on my macpro 5,1 and I would like to update it to Ventura using opencore.

Has anyone upgraded their macpro 5,1 to Ventura using opencore? I mainly want to use xcode 15 to use some new features to program apps.

What issues should I be prepared for. Apparently USB 1.1 doesn’t work in Ventura. I have an apple keyboard A1243 MB110LL/B and a magic mouse.

Will they still work once I do the upgrade?

Also, I have changed my graphics card to a Radeon RX 580 8GB, so no boot screen.

Finally, my boot drive (SSD) is connected via the cable for my second optical drive, not in any of my drive bays

I understand that I can just disconnect all of my drives and start the computer with the flash drive only and that will default the boot drive to the opencore installer. Then I can reconnect my (reformatted-blank) SSD and turn the computer back on and that will start the format on my SSD.

Does anyone know what potential issues I may face if I do the upgrade to Ventura using Opencore?

I have formatted a backup drive in case it all goes badly so I can boot to that drive instead.

Thanks so much for your help
