Can I install OCLP on an external hard drive and then use it for another Mac?

I’m installing macOS Sonoma to an external hard drive on my MacBook using the OCLP app. The hard drive on my iMac is dead, so can I just boot off the external hard drive on the iMac with OCLP on it?
