Recently revived a MBP 7,1. Currently running High Sierra and it was a nightmare for me to get there, but alas, she works!
This is going to end up being my wife’s daily driver. She’s been asking to go back to Mac after working on my old Surfacebook Pro for the last year. Rather than spend thousands on a new one, I brought this old 7,1 back from the dead. Screen was cracked so ordered a replacement and will be upgrading to a 1TB SSD, 16gb of ram, and a new battery while I’m at it.
I would like the os to be as low maintenance as absolutely possible - auto updates, patches, etc. I will sacrifice on modern apps for low maintenance as I will not be monitoring this computer regularly once it’s set up.
So - I’ve done some homework on OCLP and I can’t figure out if Big Sur or Monterey or just sticking with High Sierra is the best option. Thoughts? Suggestions? Plz help!
