I'm on catalina patcher on a 13" 2011 macbook pro. I'm considering upgrading to Monterey but I don't want to re-install everything. I've always just done an upgrade and it's worked well for me. I don't want to reconfigure settings for everything, lose licenses, not remember logins, reinstall etc etc..
The OCLP instructions aren't clear on whether that's an option or not. Having to use a USB is giving me the impression that I'd have to do a fresh install. The guide mentions using migration assistant from a time machine backup and I've never done that before and it seems like an unnecessary and lengthy step.
So can someone kindly tell me whether upgrading is an option and if so, how I'd access that option ? After i boot opencore from the usb and select install macOS monterey - will it give me the option to either fresh install or upgrade ?
Thanks all!
