Made the installation USB following all the instructions, installed, the system restarted, loaded up opencore then the installer again but after about 5 minutes it gave me the error "An error occurred applying the software update". It then asks which system you want to use to start up your computer but none are listed. If I try to reload the installer the same thing happens.
When I restart the built in drive doesn't display when I hold down option. I can go to opencore (from USB) load the Monteray installer and then get to disk utility. If I try to start the installer all over again the internal drive doesn't show up.
Any suggestions?
I don't care about any of the data or anything, it's all backed up, I'd quite like to wipe everything and start over, but I don't know how to even reinstall an older OS if the HDD isn't displayed at start up or in the installer.
