Hey! So, I have never used MacOS, however, I have come across a need to back files up to the cloud automatically. I already pay for 200gb of iCloud, so I'd prefer to take advantage of that. Currently, I host my files in a samba share on a headless Linux server, however, it does not appear that there is a good way to automatically back files to iCloud from a headless (or even with a UI) Linux machine. So, I'm wondering:
If I were to run MacOS on the server instead of Linux, would backing up files right to iCloud be doable? Would a program like FreeFileSync be able to move files onto iCloud from a folder somewhere else on the system? Or, better yet, could I do this without a Hackintosh at all?
The server I'm using is an old Asus U56E with an i5 2450M and 6gb of RAM, if it's not too old. I don't know if a new enough version of MacOS would run on it to even do any of this.
Thank you in advance, sorry for knowing so little about the ecosystem! I tried to study, I swear!
