I've been running a stable OpenCore (not sure the version, trying to find it) Big Sur install for 3 years, last weekend it froze randomly and now is freezing on boot. The only software change I made before this happened was installing Protov VPN. I'm honestly not ruling out the solar storm (lol) because this happened during the peak and this machine has never frozen since it was setup. I do live in a 120 year old building with equally old wiring but still. Anyone seen this before, have any ideas, or can point me in a direction? I'm honestly very close to just turning this into an Unraid machine and upgrading my M1 Air to MBP to run all my external monitors but I would like to get back into this drive. All my important stuff is on other drives/cloud but I do have some recent work that is local and a few thousand torrents seeding and getting those up again would be a nightmare. I may try installing Monterey or Ventura on a spare drive but the thought of doing that right now feels bad man lol
