 | The Fibocom L860 GL wwan working out of the box in macos bigsur, the native CDC ACM driver automatically detect the modem without additional kext or dsdt. you just need to map the usb interface of the wwan modem. I tested in sonoma and big sur, big sur working without problem, sonoma detect the modem but there is no UI interface to configure the connection, I guess apple ditched support for dial up modem since ventura. see https://www.macworld.com/article/821348/macos-ventura-dial-up-modem-help-files-removed.html I think it will work on monterey too but I haven't try it. the only problem is i can't see the signal strength and other modem info, maybe i will try to make a shell script to periodically fetch and show the signal strength through terminal.
