This volume can't be downgraded. Help.

So I am trying to downgrade. I made bootable USB, tried to install it and boink! Nope.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm now a little concerned about my data in TimeMachine seeing that this was an unexpected surprise. Will it also be an issue? Any suggestions?
