Hi guys!
I'm planning to upgrade my mid 2011 21,5 iMac to Ventura with OCLP, after receiving my Nvidia k2100m and BCM94360CD. ( 16gb, 1tb ssd, 1tb hdd)
I'm currently on the latest version of High Sierra, and I would like to keep this os and install Ventura on a second partition on the same ssd. After doing some research I found out in the macrumors iMac 2011 gpu upgrade forum, that dual booting with high Sierra causes issues, quote:
''About double booting with High Sierra:
High Sierra uses APFS but starting it up will corrupt the preboot partition in a way it badly interferes with Big Sur and later. If you need a double boot consider using Sierra instead on HFS+ in a separate partition!'' 2011 iMac Graphics Card Upgrade macrumors (--> spoiler 5 --> installing macos high sierra)
Since I couldn't find anything about this in the olcp documentation, I thought I may ask over here.
- Is this problem still persistent today, or patched with newer olcp releases?
- Would this also be a problem if I boot high Sierra without opencore (native)?
- Are there any other things I should consider?
Thank you in advance!
