macOS 15.4 compatability

There have been several posts about updating to macOS 15.4 which is in beta and IF it's working with OCLP2.2. As of this writing, it seems to be working for some but not all... probably better win newer Macs.

Should you upgrade to macOS 15.4 beta now?

IF you like to live on the edge, and have don't mind if the machines has to be wiped and reinstalled, then go for it. However if you're using your machine for any kind of work, are time constrained, lacking full backup, or find the concept of wiping and reinstalling terrifying, then you probably shouldn't upgrade at this time. macPOS is NOT like Windows, it can't "roll back", and if you get stuck you could be down for days or longer and potentially even lose data.

Will macOS 15.4 with Apple Intelligence will require a new version of OCLP?

Maybe/maybe not. OCLP goes on-line and grabs what it needs for OS upgraded, including those released after OCLP 2.20, so there're a chance that it'll just start working when the components are updated. Hopefully someone will post their success when that happens and let us know. On the other hand, if the 15.4 changes are significant enough, and it appears now that nay be the case because the issue seems graphics related, then it could require a new OCLP (if it can work at all).

Some have questioned if OCLP is still active as their hasn't been a new release since December. Are they alive?

OCLP 2.3 nightly has been under active development for a while with some neat changes, you can poke around on Github and read what they're working on or even grab the latest nightly beta (again, IF you know what you're doing).

Hope this helps the n00bs... I think we need a better FAQ.
