Help - Returning 2017 MacBook Pro to get a new one, yet does not support Sequoia

I am returning my 2017 refurbished Amazon MacBook Pro, which has Sequoia installed using OCLP, and I am backing up my files. But I am worried that when I restore the files to my replacement laptop (same model), it'll try to install Sequoia without OCLP and just brick my new laptop. Should I reinstall Sequoia on the new laptop, and THEN restore the files?
