Specs: mid-2014 MacBook Pro 15 inch ( 16GB RAM + 512G SSD + Iris Pro 1526MB )
The following is what I've notice since the upgrade from Ventura:
- 15 seconds login time
- the fan will immediately turn on after login
- spotlight is indexing right now but the memory usage is at around 9 to 11GB ( which is a lot ) Ventura idles at around 4GB
- Upon booting, I see a "MactintoshHD" icon where I have to press "enter" to enter the black apple icon boot screen --> is the normal for Sequoia? Ventura will just load the black apple icon boot screen immediately
- everything else is running very smoothly
I use the laptop primarily to code and the only reason I upgraded is because of Homebrew support. My question is does your machine take 15 seconds to login with fan on high alert? I am considering downgrading to Sonoma. Any feedback for those running on Sequoia will be greatly appreciated.
