| | I've got two 15' macbook pro: 2012 WiFi has been horrible since I moved from Australia earlier this year. BUT on Windows 10 it works as intended downloading an average of 160Mbps. Both are on the same network, on a WiFi 6 router, they sit next to each other so it's not the location, 2015 downloads at the intended ISP limit at around 710Mbps, same as every other device on the network while the 2012 peaks at barely 9Mbps. The only thing different I could see is the 2012 is working on the AU Country Code, there's no way to change it as far as I know and it's clearly wrong as I'm in Spain (ES). Wireless diganostics even says there's a conflicting country code, what puzzles me is when I move the laptop to another location, such as my workplace, speeds are back to normal. I think it's a combination of OCLP patching an old Broadcom card and not registering the new region change when I moved countries. (I've failed to check the country code when using a different network.) Any clue? Anything else I should try before reinstalling Ventura altogether? TLDR: Old macbook connects to WiFi thinking is still in Australia when using MacOS w/OCLP. [link] [comments] |
