Boot freeze after Sequoia Install - Downgrade to Sonoma or back to Monterey first?

hi,

I'm running a late '15 iMac (A1418) with 8gb ram and 1TB Samsung 840 SSD.

Using oclp 2.4.0 I created a USB drive with the Sequoia installer.

Everything seems fine until the first post install reboot - system freezes at 20% progress.

I used the kext deletion fix to be Able to boot into Sequoia, but there is no hardware acceleration, no wifi Bluetooth etc.

So I wonder what to do now. I picked 2.4.0 and Sequoia because others have reported it to work well, but without a clear pointer on the root cause I am not sure if I should go back to Monterey (how?) or go straight to Sonoma.

how do I identify the root cause of why drivers aren't loading?
