Root patches gone after rebooting

I was restarting my Mac and after booting it back up the hardware Acceleration was gone so I tried to install root patches but I didn't work because it says an updates was installing. But when I opened Settings the update menu only loads and loads, and in the settings I had only app updates enabled and can't reanable the other things the just won't switch back on. So what can I do in this situation to get it back working with hardware Acceleration?
